Windshield Chip Repairs, Do they work?

Windshield Chip Repairs, Do they work?

Yes windshield chip repairs work, but not all chips in windshields should or can be fixed. A chip repair (simplified) is placing a liquid resin into the chipped or cracked area & the resin fills in the chip or crack, it doesn't make it disappear it(sometimes it may look liked it disappeared, but its still there). Any chips or crack in the driver's view should never be fixed, the windshield should be replaced. The drivers view basically is considered the area the wiper blade path covers.

Insurance companies reccomend a windshield replacement if the chip is in the driver's line of vision, and if the chip can't be covered by a dollar bill.

The driver's line of vision is what they reccomend, but the drivers line of vision can be different per vechicle or driver. Some could even argue that the passenger side of the windshield is in the driver's line of vision.
